What is Project 365?  Click HERE to download the flyer...

Briefly - Project 365 is a self-motivated undertaking to capture one image per day for a year.  This is not to be underestimated as a project, less than 40% who nominate actually complete it!

However the end result is that your photography WILL improve, your skills WILL improve, and you will appreciate life more fully!  The project forces you to open your eyes and view the world in a different way!

Some more information:

  1. By undertaking this project you are indeed on the road to learning more photographically - as well the commitment required it is a testament of your commitment to complete a task through to the end.  You will achieve a great deal of satisfaction and worthy recognition.

  2. There are other ‘365’ projects around, and this is not a new or unique undertaking, however with the outlay of money, you will certainly be more motivated to complete the task. In addition you will learn to complete and receive a quality Photo Book with the images you take.  Imagine if you go a trip / holiday or event, the book will not only include your other images taken over the days, but those of your fun events.  It will essentially become a ‘Year Book’.  You also have the satisfaction of supporting your local photography club - enabling the club a stronger financial status.

  3. In addition to taking more photos you will learn how to file and manage images constructively, create a Photo Book and appreciate the beauty of life.

  4. Nominations started on the 1st June 2010.  Click HERE to go to the Nomination Page - yes you CAN do it!!!

Rules / Advice - the small print and information.

  1. You nominated the starting date - can be any day, and you may have already started!  However, you will have to demonstrate to the club committee the images you have taken on each day.  - Click HERE to see how best to do this on a PC (using PICASA).  Click HERE to see how best to do this on a Mac (iPhoto).

  2. Part of you payment includes a photo-book. Photobooks can be created in a program of your choice and you will receive a payment from WAPF of $70.00 when you upload the book for printing.  Programs that work well are:  For Mac - ‘Photos’, for PC - Blurb or Momento to name a few.  Of course you may use any program you wish and can make the book as large or small as you wish.  The value of $70.00 allows you to create a book of around 90 pages in ‘Photos’ or Blurb for example.

  3. Click HERE when you have completed your order for your book and to request a refund from WAPF to the value of $70.00.

  4. When your period if completed, you must ‘prove’ your completed shots.  You can download / activate your photobook software and start creating your book from the day you nominate - this is a good way to follow your progress.  The PhotoBook must be named - 365 - (My Name) and be shown to committee once completed to attain your certificate of completion.

  5. Once ‘committed’ you cannot miss a day.  To miss a day will break the challenge and you will need to repay and start again!  You can however claim your photo-book once a committee member indicates your break in the challenge.  Click HERE if you break you challenge and wish to claim your book.

  6. Yes, if you wish, you could possibly attempt to cheat by changing dates around in the EXIF data, however there is also terrific software around that can ‘see’ if you have done this.  Really, you will be cheating on yourself and never gain the full satisfaction of seeing a project completely through.

  7. Project 365 is only available in this format to Affiliated WAPF Club Members.

  8. Once you have completed your 365 days, please contact a Committee Club Member to verify your completion.  This will then be noted against your membership, and once you have printed your PhotoBook, you will be provided with an official 365 certificate.
