You are invited to participate in a photography competition and exhibition to showcase images reflecting the diversity of the majestic Western Australian Coastline and how we positively interact with our coastline. Finalist prints will be exhibited by Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle from 5 May to 1 July 2018.

The definition for this competition is
"WA Coastline - an image about a section of the Western Australian coastline. The image must include one or more people, but they must not dominate the landscape."

There are 2 parts to this competition:
Round 1 entries will be shortlisted to identify finalists.
Round 2 finalist entries will be printed and exhibited.

  1. The competition is open to amateur photographers who are financial members of a club affiliated with the WAPF. For the purpose of this competition, a professional photographer is considered to be either an AIPP member (Student or Full) or an individual whose photography is their prime source of income.
  2. All elements of an image need to be photographic in origin and captured/created by the author, including all developing/post-production, within the 12-month period before the closing date for entries. (Valid Range 2 April 2017 - 1 April 2018)
  3. Images entered, must have been taken on different occasions and of a different subject matter, as the intent of our competitions is to showcase unique, content-diverse pictures.

    If two images are considered to be of the same subject, we will attempt to contact the photographer to discuss this, but if contact cannot be made before the closing date of the competition, the first received will be retained and the other/s disqualified.

  4. Images previously entered into ANY other WAPF Competition cannot be entered. Rule 3 will be applied to similar images entered in previous competitions.
  5. Images cannot be watermarked or logo embedded.
  6. The image must not reflect any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law either of the Jurisdiction or any other country whose laws may apply to the entry (Evidence of licenses, permits, model release forms etc, must be provided on request or your image may be disqualified).
  7. Copyright remains with the entrant, but the entrant agrees that the WAPF may have limited license to use any entered image for WAPF promotional purposes, either online or in print. If used, the photographer will be credited, though, no logos or watermarks will be applied.
  8. Entries that may not comply to the rules or topic will be considered by the Competition Coordinator and/or Review Committee before they are disqualified.
  9. Review Committee decisions will be final; no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  10. Entry fee is $2 per image and a maximum of 3 images can be entered.
  11. There will be no refund of entry fees for entries deemed to be ineligible and disqualified.
  12. All Prizes must be taken as offered.
  13. High Resolution Files must be provided, for images shortlisted as finalists with payment of $30. (Images will be printed and matted for exhibition by Fitzgerald Photo Imaging)
  14. Winning print will be selected by popular vote, ie People's Choice


  1. Files must contain full EXIF data so that the date of capture can be confirmed.
  2. File Specifications Digital Images
    • Images to be sized no more than 1920 pixels wide AND no more than 1080 pixels high
    • Resolution is 72 (ppi)
    • Maximum file size shall be 1.5 MB
    • The colour space for all entries to be sRGB
    • The file format is to be JPEG
  3. The image files must be correctly labelled in the following format,
    • Entrant's first name and surname (in that order), image title and the coastal location WA location (Eg - Joe_Citizen_Kite_Surfing_Lancelin)
    • Each word is to be separated by an underscore
  4. Only entries uploaded and submitted via the WAPF online entry form will be accepted

WAPF invite you to participate in the ClickWest 2018 Photography Competition. 

The goal of ClickWest is to recognise and celebrate diversity across various genres of photography and to identify and reward individuals who have excelled across multiple genres through the portfolio prize. This is a digital photography competition where images are showcased at a big theatre screen event.

There are four categories to the competition and within each category there is a set topic with a refined description.

WA Coastline Competition 2018

You are invited to participate in a photography competition focused on our Western Australian coastline.  The competition is sponsored by Nikon, who will provide the prize and the WA Maritime Museum who will exhibit the finalist images which will reflect the diversity of the majestic Western Australian Coastline and how we positively interact with our coastline.

WAPF invites clubs to participate in PrintWest 2018.  This competition is held annually to engage participation and social interaction between member clubs across the state and to promote the value of a printed image. 

The competition cannot be entered directly by individuals.  Images are preselected by their club and submitted as a Club Entry.  There are two outcomes associated with each of these competitions.  As an Interclub Competition, clubs will be winners.  Photographers of images shortlisted are invited to provide a print of their image.  The printed picture will be judged and individuals awarded.

Wagin Interclub

Club Run Interclub Competition

Wagin Camera Club, with the support of the Wagin Woolorama Committee, will host the 19th Wagin Interclub Competition.

The closing date for interclub entries is Friday, February 2. Accepted entries will be on display at Wagin Woolorama 2018, to be held on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10, at the Wagin Showgrounds.

This competition is open to clubs affiliated with the WAPF. The subject will challenge the photographer’s imagination which should result in a variety of entries. It is anticipated superb images will be received

In My View

In My View is more than photography competition.  It is a competition that aims to demonstrate how the story of a photograph is seen through the eye of the beholder. Amateur photographers will be encouraged to submit their best work, specifically photographs they believe tell a great story.

Twenty images are shortlisted as finalists.  Writers are invited to create a story in prose or poetry inspired by one of these images. The resultant body of work, being photographs with an accompanying story, are published in abook.

The topic for 2018 is “I am, you are, we are Australian”
