Worldwide Photo Walk
18th July
I am co hosting the Perth leg of the Scott Kelby World wide Photography walk.
Scott Kelby is a Photoshop guru with many books on the subject, this is the second annual walk,. Last year 8324 photographers took part in 236 locations around the world and over 1 million photos taken.
On the 18th July approximately 40,000 photographers in 750 locations will participate in a photo walk of approx 2 hours.
The walk is as much about fellowship and fun as it is about photography.
The walk website is here http://worldwidephotowalk.com/
To register for the event either go to the home page and look for Perth or direct to http://worldwidephotowalk.com/perth-wa-au/
Its going to be a great fun and photo event and being part of something this big is awesome.

In My Community
There is a community portal website in Perth, Western Australia run by the Community Newspaper Group. www.inmycommunity.com.au
A big part of the site is an online photography gallery which currently has over fifty galleries from some of the world's best photographers. http://www.inmycommunity.com.au/fun-stuff/galleries/
This is an excellent destination for anyone interested in the art of photography.
This part of the site is a personal project of mine and I hope to grow it into a comprehensive collection of high quality online photography.
I am a former professional myself, now hobby photographer (www.markboyle.com.au), with a very strong interest in exposing people to photography in all its forms.
It would be great if you could let your members know about this growing resource of quality online photography.
I would also be interested in running galleries of the 'best' of local photography club work on a regular basis if that would be of interest to members.
Also, we have just started running regular photography competitions on the site based on themes.
The first one has sport as its theme and anyone in WA is eligible to enter for free, the prize is a Canon Powershot S5 IS.
http://www.inmycommunity.com.au/fun-stuff/competitions/
Unlike many competitions we are not seeking perpetual rights to the images entered, just permission to show them in relation to the competitions.
